Line Shape and Form
|
We have been talking about the elements of art since Kindergarten! Your brains are now capable of manipulating these elements to create amazing works all on your own.
View the video to the left featuring a stop motion animation I created to help you review the most simple of elements. Follow the 4 steps below to create your own work of art that demonstrates your understanding of the elements LINE SHAPE and FORM. The steps are illustrated to help you understand, but please make this project your own by making your own creative choices! There are so many different ways to complete this project, and I do not expect your project to look like mine. Helpful hint: you can click on each picture on the left and read a caption. 1) Find a 3D FORM in your home. This could be a block, jar, mug, shoe, box, really anything that has three dimensions that you find interesting! 2) Draw a flat 2D SHAPE outline of this form. You are welcome to observe the object or trace it. Consider where to place this shape on your paper. Also consider what size to draw it (making sure the shape is not too small). 3) Draw the FORM in three dimensions, assuring you have included the depth of the object. Depth is often shown with a double line that follows the edge of the 2D shape. 4) Fill in the negative background space with numerous LINES of your choice. These lines could all be different or could all be the same. They could overlap or run alongside each other. They could be thick or thin. Email you artwork to Mrs. Chelmecki [email protected] |
